His expertise spans treatment center administration, EMR implementation, compliance, and revenue cycle optimization, making him a trusted name in operational leadership within the healthcare sector.

As Chief Operating Officer at Asana Recovery, a leading behavioral healthcare network in Southern California, Adam Shandrow leads all primary functions, including clinical operations, admissions, compliance, human resources, and revenue cycle management. He has been instrumental in shaping the organization’s growth, streamlining systems, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.

Adam led Asana through

successful Joint Commission Accreditation and CARF certification, developing the infrastructure and internal processes to meet and exceed national standards. His approach is grounded in regulatory excellence, operational efficiency, and a strong commitment to clinical outcomes.

A champion of innovative healthcare technology,

Adam Shandrow implemented KIPU EMR, enabling faster and more accurate documentation, as well as improved clinical coordination. The result was a 30% improvement in documentation turnaround and stronger interdepartmental communication.

His work in revenue cycle management (RCM)

has helped organizations enhance their financial stability by improving forecasting, collections, and denial management, thereby ensuring operational sustainability in a rapidly changing healthcare environment.

Adam has also expanded access to care by launching telehealth programs and building a virtual care infrastructure that maintains continuity of care for individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.

With extensive experience in residential and outpatient treatment, Adam Shandrow has led multidisciplinary teams across various levels of care, including detox, residential, PHP, and IOP. His leadership emphasizes trauma-informed care, clinical collaboration, and a consistent focus on improving patient outcomes and retention.

Before joining Asana, Adam held leadership roles at Solid Landings Behavioral Health, overseeing more than 40 facilities and managing census for over 140 beds. He has managed multi-million-dollar healthcare budgets, hired and trained cross-functional teams, and established high-performance environments focused on delivering quality care and ensuring regulatory readiness.

Adam Shandrow served two gubernatorial terms as Chair of the California State Rehabilitation Council, where he helped shape policy to improve access to behavioral health and vocational services. He has collaborated with Workforce Boards, Job Corps, and state health agencies to create pathways for underserved populations to receive care and re-enter the workforce.
Adam Shandrow holds a B.A. in English Literature from California State University, Long Beach, and an A.S. in Aviation Management from Daniel Webster College. He is also an FAA-licensed private pilot, a reflection of his discipline, focus, and precision.
